The Sports Voice of Generation X is En Fuego
He's Jesuit-educated, he's in his mid-30s, he's married, he writes about sports and pop culture, he's funny, he's bright, he lives and dies with the teams that represent his Northeastern hometown.
Bill Simmons, in other words, is me. (He said modestly.)
And I'm upset -- Simmons stole my schtick. I should have been the guy discovered by ESPN.com. I should have been the guy who gets paid to watch games on TV while half-loaded and then blog about them. I should have been the guy with a book on the New York Times bestseller list. I should have been the guy profiled in a Slate lede story as "America's Greatest Sportswriter."
So, yes, color me green and call me jealous. Just answer me this one question:
Why does he have to be so damn good at what he does?

I read that article too Tom. I have to admit I am just a tad jealous as well. What makes it worse is that I think he realizes just how good he has it.

Bill Simmons is a misogynistic bigot with a voice that sounds like a 12 year old boy preparing for a future as a tranny vegas showgirl.
I HATE that loser.
