The Guru of Baseball Reference Gets a Local Shout-Out
WE'RE IN SINGLE DIGITS until pitchers and catchers report, and with that in mind, Jim Salisbury checked in today with a look at the man behind the superlative Web site Baseball Reference. Sean Forman's creation is the modern baseball fan's dream, packed to the rafters with just about every stat ever compiled about the national pastime, and complemented by the Web's intoxicating network of endless links. One of these days I'm going to find myself a page or two to sponsor, but until then I'll be happy to have this indispensable resource right at my keyboard. Kudos to Salisbury for shining a deserving light on Forman, too. Of course, some of us were hip to Baseball Reference years ago. ...

Yeah, you don't have an ulterior motive here do you? He is a professor at St. Joe's!

While a good article for the pages of the Inky, I think Salisbury ripped off parts from a recent article from ESPN Insider - Gammons I think. The list of links he has at the end of the article were the exact ones mentioned in the Insider article. The shoutout to BR.com also happened there first. Luckily the St. Joes tie in gives it a bit of originality.
